Defensively, the Gators were on point tonight as they held the Bulldogs to just 16 points in the first half and forced 15 turnovers in the process. Two was the magic number for the Gators as freshman Kasey Hill had two steals and sophomore DeVon Walker had two blocks.
The Gator offense was clicking tonight as sophomore Michael Frazier II led the way with 21 points. He was on fire from beyond the arc with five three-pointers. Redshirt sophomore Dorian Finney-Smith also found his deep range shot as he nailed three three-pointers of his own and scored 14 points. Seniors Will Yeguete and Patric Young did their part as well as they combined for 15 rebounds (Yeguete: 6 Young: 9 ) and 22 points (Yeguete: 12 Young: 10). Senior Scottie Wilbekin and Kasey Hill did a good job distributing the ball as the duo had five assists each.
Next up for the #7 Gators is a trip to Auburn on Saturday for a 4 p.m. showdown with the Tigers. The Tigers will need some of the luck of their football team to rub off onto them in a hurry if they wish to pull the upset. Georgia, meanwhile, will head back to Athens to take on an Arkansas team who just upset #13 Kentucky tonight and almost stunned the Gators in Fayetteville last Saturday. This game will be at 1:30 p.m.
