2019 Women's College World Series Predictions

I want to begin this article with an apology. I am sorry that I did not put out predictions for the 2018 Women's College World Series last year. Coming off of my first year of law school, it wasn't as easy jumping back into blogging like in years before.

Fortunately, I have returned from my second year eager and ready to keep putting great content onto ZKS! So without further adieu, here are the top 16 seeds in the 2019 Division I NCAA Softball Tournament along with my winners below.

Oklahoma leads the field as the No. 1 national seed. Moving down the list, the rest of the national seeds are: No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Washington, No. 4 Florida State, No. 5 Florida, No. 6 Arizona, No. 7 Minnesota, No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Texas, No. 10 LSU, No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 14 Kentucky, No. 15 Michigan, and No. 16 Northwestern.

Regionals

Norman Regional
No. 1 Oklahoma (49-2)
UMBC (30-22)
Notre Dame (36-16)
Wisconsin (40-12)

Winner: No. 1 Oklahoma over Notre Dame in regional final

Why: Oklahoma lost two games all year. TWO. Both those losses also came against then No. 1 ranked Florida State and then ranked No. 2 UCLA. They went 18-0 in Big 12 play and were on pace to win their third consecutive Big 12 Tournament title before it was cancelled due to weather. They should steamroll through their regional.

Evanston Regional
No. 16 Northwestern (43-10)
Detroit Mercy (31-26)
Southern Illinois (33-13)
Louisville (33-21)

Winner: No. 16 Northwestern over Louisville in regional final

Why: The Wildcats posted an impressive 13-1 mark at home this season and finished second in the Big 10 by just one game. If they were to meet up with Louisville in the regional final, history would be on Northwestern's side. The Wildcats played the Cardinals in three neutral-site contests this season and won every game by scores of 1-0, 9-8 (in 9 innings), and 4-2, respectively.

Austin Regional
No. 9 Texas (41-14)
Sam Houston State (34-21)
Texas A&M (28-25)
Houston (37-17)

Winner: No. 9 Texas over Texas A&M in regional final

Why: In an all-Texas regional, Texas has previously defeated both Sam Houston State and Houston this season. The Longhorns have yet the face the Aggies in 2019, but given that A&M finished dead last in the SEC, the third-best team in the Big 12 should have no issue dispatching their in-state rival at home.

Tuscaloosa Regional
No. 8 Alabama (52-7)
Alabama State (24-23)
Lipscomb (41-13-1)
Arizona State (33-18)

Winner: No. 8 Alabama over Arizona State in regional final

Why: Alabama won the SEC regular season title this year and came one run short of upending the Florida Gators in the SEC Championship Game to double down with a tournament title as well. The Tide have lost only seven games and every single one of those defeats has been a close contest. Though Arizona State has been a historically well-renowned softball program, they will not stop the Tide from rolling.

Gainesville Regional
No. 5 Florida (44-15)
Boston University (37-18)
Stanford (32-18)
Boise State (34-14)

Winner: No. 5 Florida over Boise State in regional final

Why: The Gators have been inconsistent to say the least this year. Nonetheless, they still managed to win the SEC Tournament and earn themselves a 5-seed in this year's NCAA Tournament. Per usual, I expect them to take care of business at home and yet again advance to super regionals. The Orange and Blue just may be getting hot at the right time.

Knoxville Regional
No. 12 Tennessee (39-14)
Longwood (37-20)
Ohio State (34-16)
North Carolina (35-18)

Winner: No. 12 Tennessee over North Carolina in regional final

Why: Tennessee finished second in the SEC regular season standings and was shut out 2-0 against Auburn in their first game of the SEC Tournament. With two unideal performances in conference play, the Lady Vols have a prime opportunity to redeem themselves with very favorable matchups at home. It may be a little rocky on rocky top, but the Vols will advance to their third consecutive super regional.

Stillwater Regional
No. 13 Oklahoma State (39-14)
BYU (29-24)
Arkansas (38-18)
Tulsa (35-18)

Winner: No. 13 Oklahoma State over Arkansas in regional final

Why: The Cowgirls are hosting their first regional since 1998, a year where they went to the Women's College World Series. They were able to finish second in the Big 12 behind rival Oklahoma and had a potential rematch against the Sooners looming in a Big 12 Tournament that was rained out. Take out the three-game sweep against OU, and Oklahoma State has won 13 of their last 16 games. This team has been hot and they will handle business in Stillwater.

Tallahassee Regional
No. 4 Florida State (51-8)
Bethune-Cookman (26-29)
South Florida (40-17)
South Carolina (36-17)

Winner: No. 4 Florida State over South Carolina in regional final

Why: This one is a no brainer. The Seminoles are the defending national champions and have been ranked in the Top 5 nearly all season. They shouldn't break a sweat against any team in their regional.

Seattle Regional
No. 3 Washington (45-7)
Fordham (29-4)
Mississippi State (33-21)
Seattle University (39-15)

Winner: No. 3 Washington over Mississippi State in regional final

Why: The Huskies finished with an identical 20-4 conference record along with UCLA to share the Pac-12 regular season title. This squad finished as the national runner up last year and boast four seniors and four juniors who took part in that run to the title game. Among the four seniors is ace pitcher Taran Alvelo, who is 24-4 with a 1.61 ERA and 257 strikeouts in 174.1 innings pitched.

With a revenge tour in mind, nobody should stand in the Huskies way as they cruise through regional play.

Lexington Regional
No. 14 Kentucky (33-22)
Toledo (29-26)
Illinois (32-23)
Virginia Tech (45-9)

Winner: No. 14 Kentucky over Virginia Tech in regional final

Why: The Wildcats technically finished second in the SEC regular season standings with an identical 14-10 record along with Tennessee and LSU. In their last SEC series of the year, Kentucky actually went into Tuscaloosa and won their series against the then No. 3 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide.

Though the Tide would get revenge on the Wildcats in the SEC Tournament, Kentucky proved they can win against tough teams in hostile environments. That being said, hosting a regional should alleviate some of that pressure and allow them to beat a very good Virginia Tech team that will probably give Kentucky a run for its money.

Oxford Regional
No. 11 Ole Miss (37-17)
Chattanooga (37-15)
UL-Lafayette (50-4)
Southeastern Missouri State (45-16)

Winner: No. 11 Ole Miss over UL-Lafayette in regional final

Why: Well Hotty Toddy! In their fourth ever NCAA Tournament appearance, the Rebels are hosting a regional for the second time. Ole Miss has series wins over both Florida and Tennessee to boost their resume and will need all of the Rebel faithful to come out and support as their regional final matchup will probably be a hot Ragin' Cajun team that has not lost since March 20th.

Tuscon Regional
No. 6 Arizona (42-12)
Harvard (25-17)
Colorado State (38-10)
Auburn (37-19)

Winner: No. 6 Arizona over Auburn in regional final

Why: Arizona finished the regular season on a pretty high note as they took two of three form then No. 3 ranked UCLA to deny the Bruins an outright Pac-12 regular season championship. Finishing third in the conference themselves, the Wildcats should have no problem in a possible matchup with Auburn, who has stumbled a bit since making two WCWS in the last four years.

Minneapolis Regional
No. 7 Minnesota (41-12)
North Dakota State (42-14)
Georgia (40-17)
Drake (42-14)

Winner: Georgia over No. 7 Minnesota in regional final

Why: My first and only upset of regional play goes to the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs finished with an identical 12-12 record as Florida for fourth place in the SEC regular season standings and took the No. 1 seeded Alabama Crimson Tide to extra innings in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

Having made three WCWS this decade (2010, 2016, 2018), the Dawgs are a junior-laden team as they have eight juniors to just two seniors. The only item of concern is their 7-7 record on the road.

On the other hand, Minnesota is no rollover. They finished third in the Big 10 regular season standings by half a game and lost to regular season champion Michigan by a score of 3-2 in the Big 10 Championship. Since April, they have posted a 16-3 record. However, the Golden Gophers are hosting only their second ever regional and in the entire history of the program and have only advance to super regionals just once.

Baton Rouge Regional
No. 10 LSU (40-16)
Monmouth (36-16)
Louisiana Tech (44-14)
Texas Tech (39-14)

Winner: No. 10 LSU over Louisiana Tech in regional final

Why: LSU is always consistent on the diamond and has been to three WCWS in the last four years. Had they not had a rough weekend at home against Alabama, the Tigers would have been the ones hoisting up the SEC regular season championship.

Regardless, a 10 seed for the Bayou Bengals is still a nice landing place and they should have no real issues dispatching any of their foes in this regional. Given the fandom and support from the local Baton Rouge community, Tiger Park will be packed and rocking.

Ann Arbor Regional
No. 15 Michigan (43-11)
St. Francis (Pa.) (29-29)
James Madison (47-7)
DePaul (34-14)

Winner: No. 15 Michigan over James Madison in regional final

Why: I love the Dukes but will not be a fool like I have in prior prediction articles about this sport. Michigan swept the Big 10 regular season and conference tournament. Hosting a regional for the first time since they finished as national runner-up in 2016, the Wolverines have a much better shot at reaching a super regional than they have in years past.

Los Angeles Regional
No. 2 UCLA (46-5)
Weber State (26-19)
Cal State Fullerton (38-16)
Missouri (32-23)

Winner: No. 2 UCLA over Missouri in regional final

Why: Rounding out regional play are the mighty Bruins of UCLA. Having lost one non-conference game the entire season, UCLA will shred through their competition to reach their sixth consecutive super regional.

Super Regionals
This is where the real fun starts. Now that I have predicted the regional winners, it is on to the super regionals! Keep in mind that a team needs to win two out of three games to advance to the Women's College World Series!

Norman Super Regional
No. 1 Oklahoma vs No. 16 Northwestern

Winner: No. 1 Oklahoma

Why: I really do not think it needs to be reiterated how dominant Oklahoma has been this season. They win the super regional in two games.

Tuscaloosa Super Regional
No. 8 Alabama vs No. 9 Texas

Winner: No. 8 Alabama

Why: Alabama vs Texas is always a good matchup regardless of the sport. Here, the Tide may need three but they will best the Longhorns to get back to Oklahoma City for the first time since 2016.

Gainesville Super Regional
No. 5 Florida vs No. 12 Tennessee

Winner: No. 12 Tennessee

Why: I love my Gators, but I am going with the Lady Vols here. Tennessee came into Gainesville earlier this season and took two of three from Florida. Like I said about regional play, Florida has been inconsistent all year and I think unfortunatley their season will reach its conclusion in a three game heartbreaker against the Lady Vols.

Tallahassee Super Regional
No. 4 Florida State vs No. 13 Oklahoma State

Winner: No. 4 Florida State

Why: The Cowgirl upset is tempting, but I will not pick against the defending champions who are 28-2 at home. The Seminoles take it in two.

Seattle Super Regional
No. 3 Washington vs No. 14 Kentucky

Winner: No. 3 Washington

Why: Washington will not break a sweat. They will sweep Kentucky in two games.

Tuscon Super Regional
No. 6 Arizona vs No. 11 Ole Miss

Winner: No. 6 Arizona

Why: Ole Miss may steal one from Arizona, but at the end of the day the Wildcats will grind out a WCWS berth in three games.

Baton Rouge Super Regional
No. 10 LSU vs Georgia

Winner: No. 10 LSU

Why: Gifted a super regional thanks to Georgia's upset of Minnesota, LSU will look to replicate their regular season success against the Dawgs where they went into Athens and left with a three-game sweep. The Tigers take it in two.

Los Angeles Super Regional
No. 2 UCLA vs No. 15 Michigan

Winner: No. 2 UCLA

Why: Michigan is UCLA's one non-conference loss I talked about earlier, but that was in neutral site action. In Los Angeles, I think the Wolverines keep it close but ultimately lose in three hard-fought games.

Women's College World Series
If all of my picks were to come true, let's see how the Women's College World Series would turn out!

Women's College World Series First Round
No. 1 Oklahoma vs No. 8 Alabama

Winner: No. 8 Alabama

Why: Now here's the first record-stopping pick of this article. That's right, I believe the Alabama Crimson Tide will find a way to upset the No. 1 overall seed in the first round in Oklahoma City. I could see this being a one-run game and a pitcher's duel.

No. 4 Florida State vs No. 12 Tennessee

Winner: No. 4 Florida State

Why: The defending champs will continue from where they left off and easily dispatch Tennessee to advance to the second round.

No. 3 Washington vs No. 6 Arizona

Winner: No. 3 Washington

Why: The Huskies swept the Wildcats on the road. Now in a neutral site action in the WCWS, Washington will nab their fourth win of the year over Arizona.

No. 2 UCLA vs No. 10 LSU

Winner: No. 2 UCLA

Why: I love LSU, but in a rematch of the 2017 WCWS opening round it will be  No. 2 UCLA who emerges as the victor this time.

Elimination Games
No. 1 Oklahoma vs No. 12 Tennessee

Winner: No. 1 Oklahoma

Why: OU may have lost a tough one to Alabama, but they will bounce right back and knock out the Lady Vols to keep their postseason alive.

No. 6 Arizona vs No. 10 LSU

Winner: No. 10 LSU

Why: Facing another Pac-12 foe, LSU will outlast the Wildcats to stay in Oklahoma City for at least one more game.

End Result: No. 6 Arizona & No. 12 Tennessee ELIMINATED

Second Round

No. 4 Florida State vs No. 8 Alabama

Winner: No. 4 Florida State

Why: A tough one to pick no doubt, I think the Seminoles survive an instant classic against the Tide.

No. 2 UCLA vs No. 3 Washington

Winner: No. 2 UCLA

Why: The Bruins swept the Huskies in Seattle, so now it'll be Washington who feels the pain of going 0-4 against a team who had their number in the regular season.

Second Round Elimination Games
No. 1 Oklahoma vs No. 3 Washington

Winner: No. 1 Oklahoma

Why: The Sooners will continue to claw back from the loser's bracket as they narrowly defeat Washington to reach the WCWS semifinals.

No. 8 Alabama vs No. 10 LSU

Winner: No. 8 Alabama

Why: Alabama swept LSU with the SEC regular season title on the line. Now with the season at stake, the Tide will again roll and defeat their conference rival to advance to the WCWS semifinals.

End Result: No. 3 Washington & No. 10 LSU ELIMINATED

WCWS Semifinals

No. 1 Oklahoma vs No. 4 Florida State

Winner:
No. 4 Florida State

Why: The Sooners will win the first semifinal game to make the 'Noles break a sweat, but ultimately FSU will channel what ever mojo it used to beat OU in the regular season and advance to back-to-back WCWS Finals.

No. 2 UCLA vs No. 8 Alabama

Winner: No. 8 Alabama

Why: Having to beat UCLA is no small task but is completely doable as Florida State accomplished that exact feat on route to their national championship run last season. Having already knocked off OU to kick off the WCWS and beaten an arch rival in an elimination game, the Tide will find a way to steal two from the Bruins and advance to their first WCWS Finals since 2014.

End Result: No. 1 Oklahoma & No. 2 UCLA ELIMINATED

WCWS Finals

No. 4 Florida State vs No. 8 Alabama

Winner: No. 8 Alabama

Why: In a grueling three-game series and a second round rematch, the Alabama Crimson Tide will get revenge on the state of Florida after the Gators handed them a finals lost back in 2014. The Tide and 'Noles have not met all season and this would be a very fitting end for a pair of teams that consistently bordered each other in the Top 5 rankings. I can promise this would be a great final to watch if it did indeed come to fruition.

National Champion:

Alabama!

Final Takeaway
Well there you have it. Another softball tournament prediction from ZKS is in the books. It'll be fun to see how it all plays out as the #MAYhem (the NCAA's hashtag not mine) unfolds. Of course, I just hope for a very entertaining tournament and another great showing of softball at the collegiate level!

Thank you for taking time to read this article! I hope you enjoyed it! Stay tuned as I'll be putting out more content periodically throughout the summer!

2018 College World Series Predictions

It is perhaps my favorite time of the year! The 64-team field for the college baseball postseason has been announced and once again I am ready to announce my predictions for what really is an unpredictable tournament!

Before the 2018 college baseball season began, I released predictions on ZKS on how many teams would make it and I was fortunate enough to correctly guess 34 of the 64 schools selected! Though I am somewhat restrained by my preseason projected College World Series participants, I still have some liberty to give my thoughts on who I think the remaining eight will be in Omaha due to some of my anticipated schools not even making the tourney.

As expected with an article of this type, I must stress that baseball is HARD TO PREDICT and that I do these picks hoping for wacky upsets and great storylines all the way up through the College World Series. So without further adieu, here are the ZKS predictions for the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Baseball Tournament!

Regionals

Gainesville Regional
No. 1 Florida (42-17)
Jacksonville (39-19)
Florida Atlantic (40-17)
Columbia (20-28)

Winner: No. 1 Florida over Florida Atlantic

Why: The Gators are no stranger to being the top seed in this tournament. Winning the regular season title in college baseball's toughest conference for the second straight year is a testament to how talented this team is from top to bottom. After finally securing the program's first national championship last season, any pressures of "choking" should not weigh on the minds of this Florida squad.

They Gators may have finished the regular season and conference tournament on a sour note, but this team has just been too good all season to lose in regional play. Having first rounders like Jonathan India, Brady Singer, and Jackson Kowar does not hurt either.

Raleigh Regional
No. 16 NC State (40-16)
Auburn (39-21)
Northeastern (36-19)
Army (35-22)

Winner: Auburn over No. 16 NC State

Why: The good news for Auburn is that they are not playing in the Tallahassee Regional. With the change in scenery, a dangerous lineup, and first rounder Casey Mize at their disposal, the Tigers should finally be able to defeat their ACC-host and advance to super regionals.

Athens Regional
No. 8 Georgia (36-19)
Duke (40-15)
Troy (41-19)
Campbell (35-24)

Winner: No. 8 Georgia over Duke

Why: Despite a poor showing in the SEC Tournament, the Dawgs won 6 SEC series and have done enough to earn their first national seed since the 2008 tournament (where they finished runner-up in the College World Series). Now a decade later, Georgia just might be primed to make another run, and none of the other three teams in this region will prevent that from happening.

Lubbock Regional
No. 9 Texas Tech (39-17)
Louisville (43-17)
Kent State (39-16)
New Mexico State (40-20)

Winner: No. 9 Texas Tech over Louisville

Why: I picked Texas Tech to finish as the CWS runner-ups at the beginning of the season, but them being in the same bracket as Florida has forced me to make some alterations. As a ball club that has appeared in two of the last four CWS, Tech's early round exit in their own regional last season was very underwhelming.

With Louisville being their biggest threat this postseason, Tech should be able to avenge their shortcomings from last postseason and get back on track towards Omaha.

Fayetteville Regional
No. 5 Arkansas (39-18)
Southern Miss (43-16)
Dallas Baptist (40-19)
Oral Roberts (38-18)

Winner: No. 5 Arkansas over Southern Miss

Why: Arky's offense is DEADLY. Among the NCAA they currently sit third in home runs (84), third in home runs per game (1.47) and ninth in slugging percentage (.484). With guys like Casey Martin, Heston Kjerstad, Carson Shaddy, and Eric Cole (who combined for 46 home runs), teams in this region will need to pitch carefully each time through this lineup. Akry should blast their way to their first super regional since 2015.

Greenville Regional
No. 12 East Carolina (43-16)
South Carolina (33-24)
Ohio State (36-22)
UNCW (37-21)

Winner: South Carolina over No. 12 East Carolina

Why: Do not let South Carolina's recent woes make you forget that at one point they won back-to-back national championships (2010 and 2011) and appeared in three straight CWS Finals. With new skipper Mark Kingston at the helm, the Gamecocks baseball program has been revitalized.

Relying on the gauntlet that has been their SEC schedule, South Carolina will advance to its first super regional since 2016. This will be the second upset of the tournament (Auburn over No. 16 NC State being the first).

Oxford Regional
No. 4 Ole Miss (46-15)
Tennessee Tech (48-9)
Missouri State (38-15)
Saint Louis (38-18)

Winner: No. 4 Ole Miss over Missouri State

Why: Ole Miss won the SEC Tournament, which alone speaks volumes. Having won all but three SEC series this season, the Rebels have been a force to be reckoned with all season. With a 28-4 record at home, the SEC Western Division Champs will not fold to their competition at Swayze Field.

Austin Regional
No. 13 Texas (37-20)
Indiana (38-17)
Texas A&M (39-20)
Texas Southern (27-26)

Winner: No. 13 Texas over Texas A&M

Why: It is good to see Texas baseball actually somewhat relevant again in the post-Augie Garrido era (RIP Augie). Hosting a regional for the first time since 2011, the Big 12 Regular Season Champions will most likely have to duke it out with former conference rival Texas A&M to earn their super regional berth. With a 27-7 record at home, however, the odds are definitely in the Longhorns' favor.

Corvallis Regional
No. 3 Oregon State (44-10-1)
LSU (37-25)
San Diego State (42-21)
Northwestern State (37-22)

Winner: LSU over No. 3 Oregon State

Why: I will not lie, part of my reasoning for this pick is because I attend LSU for law school. However, lest not forget that LSU did beat a loaded Oregon State team TWICE in Omaha last year to advance to the CWS Finals.

LSU has a tendency to get hot around the postseason (as evidenced by their improbable run to the SEC Championship Game), so it would not surprise me one bit if the Bayou Bengals messed around and actually won the Corvallis Regional in some incredible LSU-esque fashion.

Minneapolis Regional
No. 14 Minnesota (41-13)
UCLA (36-19)
Gonzaga (32-22)
Canisius (35-20)

Winner: UCLA over No. 14 Minnesota

Why: Minnesota may have won both the Big 10 regular season and tournament titles, but they have not gotten past regional play since 1977. Though UCLA has not been any spectacular since their national championship in 2013 (they lost as the dang No. 1 overall seed in 2015!), the Bruins were able to rip off a nifty eight-game winning streak at one point this season in addition to handing Oregon State a loss in Corvallis. I think finally the Bruins get back to a super regional.

Chapel Hill Regional
No. 6 North Carolina (38-18)
Purdue (37-19)
Houston (36-23)
NC A&T (32-23)

Winner: No. 6 North Carolina over Houston

Why: Perhaps my most unconfident pick of the tournament, the Tarheels have found a way in some shape or fashion to crumble in the postseason. As much as I could see Houston "shocking the world" and handing the Tarheels what would be another crushing loss for them in Chapel Hill, I am banking on UNC perhaps feeling less pressure as a lower national seed and playing looose. In turn, they might just go and win their first regional since 2013.

DeLand Regional
No. 11 Stetson (45-11)
South Florida (35-20-1)
Oklahoma State (29-24-1)
Hartford (26-29)

Winner: South Florida over No. 11 Stetson

Why: Never has USF ever advanced to a super regional. However, in both of the past two years the Bulls have had to deal with the Florida Gators in Gainesville. This is Stetson's first ever year hosting a regional, and USF comes in with much experience after appearing in two of the last three tournaments.

Although the Hatters beat the Bulls in both their regular season meetings, there is no better time than the postseason for USF to enact their revenge and finally reach a super regional.

Tallahassee Regional
No. 7 Florida State (43-17)
Mississippi State (31-25)
Oklahoma (36-23)
Samford (36-24)

Winner: No. 7 Florida State over Mississippi State

Why: Florida State is a solid ball club and (per usual) got hot in the ACC Tournament on route to yet another tournament title. Despite Miss State being able to boast that they swept No. 1 Florida in Starkville, they in no way will be able to replicate that mojo on the Gators' rival as the Seminoles are 30-7 at Dick Howser Stadium. I expect the Seminoles to roll through their regional.

Clemson Regional
No. 10 Clemson (45-14)
Vanderbilt (31-25)
St. John's (39-15)
Morehead State (37-24)

Winner: No. 10 Clemson over Vanderbilt

Why: I always love going for Clemson in the tournament. I really do not know why (it could be the uniform combinations or that incredible video I saw on their locker room), but I put the Tigers in the CWS nearly every year and continually they fail to make it there.

Despite not making it to Omaha since 2010 or even getting out of regionals since then, Clemson again is my pick to win their regional.  Even though Vandy is in Clemson's regional again, I want to believe that the Tigers learned from that loss and will be better prepared for the Commodores this time around.

Stanford Regional
No. 2 Stanford (44-10)
Baylor (36-19)
Cal State Fullerton (32-23)
Wright State (39-15)

Winner: Cal State Fullerton over No. 2 Stanford

Why: Though Stanford has made three super regionals this decade, it is hard for me to pick against Cal State Fullerton. Time and time again this Big West school finds a way to make it to Omaha as they have appeared in two of the last three CWS. Given the latest track records of both schools, I am going to take the Titans in a three-game, win-or-go home slugfest over the Cardinal.

Conway Regional
No. 15 Coastal Carolina (42-17)
UConn (35-20-1)
Washington (30-23)
LIU Brooklyn (31-24)

Winner: No. 15 Coastal Carolina over UConn

Why: Even though Coastal defeated my Florida Gators in the 2016 CWS and my LSU Tigers in the preceding super regional, I have no ill will towards the Chanticleers. Hosting for just the second time in school history, the Chanticleers should not have much problem with the competition in their regional. The Chanticleers will seek to recapture the magic from their 2016 title run as they advance to the fourth super regional in school history.

Super Regionals
So if somehow I went a perfect 16/16 on regional winners, let's check out how super regionals would shape up! Keep in mind that a team has to win two out of three games in supers to advance to the College World Series.

Gainesville Super Regional
No. 1 Florida vs Auburn

Winner: No. 1 Florida

Why: Florida won their series against Auburn in Gainesville during the regular season. The Gators are 14-7 all-time in super regional play and have only once ever lost in a super regional at home (2009 to Southern Miss).

Whether or not the rain is going to cause absurd delays will be more of a concern for Florida and their fans than if Auburn is actually going to defeat the Gators to go to Omaha.

Athens Super Regional
No. 8 Georgia vs No. 9 Texas Tech

Winner: No. 9 Texas Tech

Why: Even though Tech has never played in a super regional not located in Lubbock, their experience from the last few postseasons should be enough to lift them over a Georgia team that might still be getting used to having success again in baseball.

Fayetteville Regional
No. 5 Arkansas vs South Carolina

Winner: No. 5 Arkansas

Why: Arkansas and South Carolina hooked up in the regular season with the Razorbacks taking the series. The fire may be back for the Gamecocks, but it will not be enough to stop a potent Arky lineup from raking all across the yard.

Oxford Super Regional
No. 4 Ole Miss vs No. 13 Texas

Winner: No. 4 Ole Miss

Why: In perhaps my favorite matchup of these projected super regionals, I think Ole Miss and Texas go all three games. In the end, the more-talented Rebels will take the series but the Longhorns will give them everything in the tank and leave a lot of people in Austin excited about the resurgence of Texas baseball.

Los Angeles Super Regional
UCLA vs LSU

Winner: LSU

Why: In what will be the most improbable super regional matchup of this tournament, the LSU Tigers will again find a way as they stun another Pac-12 team and somehow make it to the College World Series.

Chapel Hill Super Regional
No. 6 North Carolina vs South Florida

Winner: No. 6 North Carolina

Why: USF's euphoria of reaching super regionals will end abruptly as UNC quickly sweeps them to get back to the CWS for the first time since 2013.

Tallahassee Super Regional
No. 10 Clemson vs No. 7 Florida State

Winner: No. 10 Clemson

Why: Clemson took the regular season series over the 'Noles at home. It will be a tad more difficult to get those two golden victories on the road, but the Tigers will find a way to pull it out in a three-game affair.

Conway Super Regional
No. 15 Coastal Carolina vs Cal State Fullerton

Winner: Cal State Fullerton

Why: In the second ever super regional to be hosted at Coastal Carolina, the Titans will rely on their experience as they gut out two tight victories over the Chanticleers to return to Omaha.

College World Series
We now arrive at the final eight in Omaha! Let's see who the 2018 National Champion will be! Keep in mind that two losses, similar to regionals and super regionals, will result in elimination. Let's get started!

College World Series First Round
No. 1 Florida vs No. 9 Texas Tech

Winner: No. 1 Florida

Why: Though Tech eliminated the Gators from Omaha in heartbreaking fashion back in 2016, it will be Florida who gets the laugh this time as they take the opener.

No. 4 Ole Miss vs No. 5 Arkansas

Winner: No. 5 Arkansas

Why: Arky lost the regular season series to the Rebels and as a result had to split the SEC West title. In the most important game of the season, the Razorbacks will out-slug Ole Miss to claim a first round victory.

No. 6 North Carolina vs LSU

Winner:  No. 6 North Carolina

Why: Facing an LSU team that has relied on a ton of the usual bayou mojo to get further than they should, the Tarheels will continue to overcome their choking past as they defeat the Tigers in the first round.

No. 10 Clemson vs Cal State Fullerton

Winner: No. 10 Clemson

Why: Back in the CWS finally and with no South Carolina in sight, the Tigers will have the benefit of playing a Cal State Fullerton team that has struggled to get out of the first round in recent appearances. Clemson will continue the trend and send the Titans to the loser's bracket.

Elimination Games
No. 9 Texas Tech vs No. 4 Ole Miss

Winner: No. 4 Ole Miss

Why: Hotty Toddy will not go down that easily. They will rally from the loss to Arky to send the Red Raiders home with yet again no hardware from Omaha.

LSU vs Cal State Fullerton

Winner: Cal State Fullerton

Why: Just to make it to Omaha will be what LSU takes away from this season as the Titans stave off elimination and end the Tigers' incredible run.

End Result: No. 9 Texas Tech & LSU ELIMINATED

Second Round
No. 1 Florida vs No. 5 Arkansas

Winner: No. 5 Arkansas

Why: Though Florida won the regular season series, Arkansas smacked the Gators in the SEC Tournament. The Arky bats will light up Gator pitching once more as the defending champs will find themselves with their backs up against the wall in the loser's bracket.

No. 6 North Carolina vs No. 10 Clemson

Winner:  No. 10 Clemson

Why: In the first meeting of the year between the the two best teams in the ACC, the Tigers will prevail as the pressure of the CWS starts to get to North Carolina.

Elimination Games
No. 1 Florida vs No. 4 Ole Miss

Winner: No. 1 Florida

Why: In the first meeting between these SEC foes, the Gators will avoid elimination as the regular season champs send the tournament champs home.

No. 6 North Carolina vs Cal State Fullerton

Winner: Cal State Fullerton

Why: The Tarheels will completely crack under the pressure as the Cal State Fullerton will again win with their season on the line.

End Result: No. 4 Ole Miss & No. 6 North Carolina ELIMINATED

CWS Semifinals
No. 1 Florida vs No. 5 Arkansas

Winner: No. 1 Florida

Why: Back at Arky needing two wins to reach the Finals, the Gators will pull what they did in Gainesville and rip off a pair of hard-fought victories over the Hogs to reach their fourth CWS Championship Series in school history.

Cal State Fullerton vs No. 10 Clemson

Winner: No. 10 Clemson

Why: With Cal State Fullerton exhausted after surviving two elimination games, a rested Clemson bunch will easily dispatch them to advance to their first ever CWS Championship Series.

End Result: No. 5 Arkansas & Cal State Fullerton ELIMINATED

CWS Finals
No. 1 Florida vs No. 10 Clemson

Winner: No. 1 Florida

Why: I predicted this matchup back in 2016 and although we did get an SEC-ACC National Championship, it was not Florida vs Clemson. Two years later, I am again banking on my alma mater to make it back to the title game and for Clemson to put years of shortcomings behind them to finally plow through to the final.

As for the series itself, the Gators will win in three games. Their lack of depth at pitching will be what makes it go the distance but ultimately Florida will take it to secure the repeat.

National Champion:

Florida Gators!

Final Takeaway
So there you have it, the Florida Gators will repeat as National Champions! Keep in mind that as a Gator fan I am terrified that I followed through on my preseason pick because the tournament where I did pick the Gators to wit it all (2016) did not end well for the Orange and Blue.

The Gators have been great all season, but Florida teams that usually exhibit dominance throughout the entire regular season are the most viable candidates to go two and out in Omaha. Don't believe me? Just look back at 2012 and 2016. Not to mention that only one No. 1 overall seed (1999 Miami) has ever won the National Championship.

Hopefully I am wrong about that though and the Gators make another special run at the title. In fact, if even one of my upsets or half of my predictions came to fruition I would be very happy. Which brings me to why I love baseball. On any given day any team can win in this sport. It is going to yet again be another great postseason for college baseball, and I cannot wait to watch all the action as it unfolds!

2017 College World Series Predictions

It is perhaps my favorite time of the year again! This past Memorial Day, the field of 64 was set for this year's NCAA D1 Baseball Tournament! What makes the college baseball postseason so special is its unpredictability.

For instance, who would have thought that Coastal Carolina (who did not even make this year's tournament) would have gone all the way to claim their first national title in school history? I can GUARANTEE you that no expert saw that coming. Only those with ties to Coastal would have made such a bold prediction.

That being said, I am excited for this year's tournament to see if maybe another dark horse will arise from their obscure position within one of the 16 regionals. Or maybe a powerhouse will retake the throne as a national seed has not won it all since 2011 (No. 4 South Carolina).

Regardless, I am ready to put my college baseball credibility on the line and predict the winners of the most unpredictable tournament in all of sports. Without further adieu, here is how I think the 2017 NCAA D1 Baseball Tournament will shape up!

Regionals

Corvallis Regional
No. 1 Oregon State (49-4)
Nebraska (35-20)
Yale (32-16)
Holy Cross (23-27)

Winner: No. 1 Oregon State over Nebraska

Why: This one was not that difficult to pick. Oregon State is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament and has lost just ONCE in 27 games at home. Keep in mind also that they are on a 16-game winning streak, have just FOUR losses, and dropped just one non-conference game the whole season.

Even though Nebraska won the Big 10 regular season title, they are no match for Oregon State. When these two hooked up in a Big 10/Pac-12 challenge in Arizona, Oregon State won 10-1. The Beavers should cruise through their regional.

Clemson Regional
Clemson (39-19)
Vanderbilt (33-22)
St. John's (42-11)
UNC-Greensboro (35-22)

Winner: Clemson over Vanderbilt

Why: Both Clemson and Vanderbilt finished third in their respective divisions within the ACC and SEC. With the Commodores being a tad more down than they are used to this season, Clemson has the perfect opportunity to advance to their first super regional since 2010.

The Tigers will have to go through Vandy ace Kyle Wright at some point, however, if they wish to bring the city of Clemson another national championship on the heels of their football title back in January.

Long Beach Regional
Long Beach State (37-17)
Texas (37-22)
UCLA (30-25)
San Diego State (41-19)

Winner: UCLA over Texas

Why: To the shock of many Dirtbag fans, Long Beach State will not be in their own regional final. Instead, it will be a showdown between the UCLA Bruins and Texas Longhorns. As the only team to win a series against No. 1 Oregon State, the Bruins will find a way as they only have to travel half an hour south.

Texas is a decent ball club and has a prestigious history with six national championships, but they will still need a couple more years before they are a perennial title contender again.

Stanford Regional
No. 8 Stanford (40-14)
Cal State Fullerton (34-21)
BYU (37-19)
Sacramento State (32-27)

Winner: Cal State Fullerton over No. 8 Stanford

Why: My first upset of a national seed upset in the tournament, the Cal State Fullerton Titans will rekindle their magic from two years ago and stun No. 8 Stanford in their own regional. This will be a rematch, as the Titans took two of three from the Cardinal in the season opening series in Fullerton.

The Cardinal won't go down without a fight, however, as they are the Pac-12 regular season runner-ups and home field advantage has been flipped.

Lubbock Regional
No. 5 Texas Tech (43-15)
Arizona (37-19)
Sam Houston State (40-20)
Delaware (34-21)

Winner: No. 5 Texas Tech over Arizona

Why: A College World Series participant last season, Texas Tech will begin their quest for a third trip to Omaha in four years. Although Arizona finished as the National Runner-Up in last year's tournament, it will be tough for them to return as they lost seven seniors and are 11-11 in road contests.

It does not help the Wildcats' case either that Texas Tech is the Big-12 regular season champion and has lost only five games at home all year.

Tallahassee Regional
Florida State (39-20)
UCF (40-20)
Auburn (35-24)
Tennessee Tech (40-19)

Winner: Auburn over Florida State

Why: This will be the sixth time in Auburn baseball history that the Tigers will be playing in the Tallahassee regional. Of those six prior trips, they have only won the regional once back in 1976. Twice (in 1999 and 2005) has Florida State eliminated them from the tournament.

In 2017, that all ends. As a team that swept Florida at the beginning of conference play, the Tigers will advance to just their second super regional ever. Even though Florida State is "hot" and won the ACC Tournament, they have been sporadic this season. Had they not won the ACC Tournament, I do not believe they would be hosting a regional.

I don't do this for everyone, but keep an eye on UCF. That's all I'm going to say.

Hattiesburg Regional
Southern Miss (48-14)
Mississippi State (36-24)
South Alabama (39-19)
Illinois-Chicago (39-15)

Winner: Mississippi State over Southern Miss

Why: Southern Miss is GOOD. There is no denying that as they are the Conference USA champions and obliterated their foes with just five conference losses. The only thing is that Mississippi State has one of the best players in the country in Brent Rooker.

Behind Rooker's bat, the Bulldogs will avenge their stumble in last year's tournament and advance to super regionals for the second straight year.

Baton Rouge Regional
No. 4 LSU (43-17)
Southeastern (36-20)
Rice (31-29)
Texas Southern (20-32)

Winner: No. 4 LSU over Rice

Why: Ah the Bayou Bengals. As the co-champions of the SEC and winners of the SEC Tournament, LSU will obliterate anyone who tries to oppose them at the Box. I think they go through this regional undefeated with none of the games being close.

Chapel Hill Regional
No. 2 North Carolina (47-12)
FGCU (42-18)
Michigan (42-15)
Davidson (32-24)

Winner: FGCU over No. 2 North Carolina

Why: Perhaps my boldest pick of the article, I envision some kind of scenario where Florida Gulf Coast (in their first ever tournament appearance) upsets the No. 2 national seed North Carolina. The Eagles' quality wins consist of victories over in-state opponents Florida, Florida State, and Miami.

I asked at the beginning of this article who would be the next dark horse, and maybe FGCU is ready to answer the call. It will by no means be easy though, as the Tarheels have lost just six games at home the whole season.

Houston Regional
Houston (40-19)
Baylor (34-21)
Texas A&M (36-21)
Iowa (38-20)

Winner: Texas A&M over Houston

Why: Despite getting bounced in the opening round of the SEC Tournament, the Texas A&M Aggies are a good team. With three stud freshmen in Braden Shewmake, Hunter Coleman, and Logan Foster, this Aggies team will surprise many people this postseason.

Texas A&M will not just walk all over Houston though. The Cougars won the American Athletic Championship and are currently riding a six-game winning streak. This regional will go the distance, as a winner-take-all final will determine who moves on to super regionals.

Lexington Regional
Kentucky (39-20)
Indiana (33-22)
NC State (34-23)
Ohio (31-26)

Winner: NC State over Kentucky

Why: Everyone on the SEC Network raved about how Kentucky deserved to be a national seed and gawked at their league-leading offense. Not to mention how they took home major hardware in the SEC with Sean Hjelle winning Pitcher of the Year, Zach Logue winning Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and their skipper Nick Mingione winning Coach of the Year.

Despite all the accolades, the postseason will tell a different story. A middle-of-the-pack ACC team in the NC State Wolfpack will silence all the Kentucky bandwagoners and win this regional. I do not exactly know how they are going to pull this off, but I am sure the baseball gods have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Louisville Regional
No. 7 Louisville (47-10)
Oklahoma (34-22)
Xavier (32-25)
Radford (27-30)

Winner: No. 7 Louisville over Oklahoma

Why: Louisville won the ACC regular season championship by one game with an impressive 23-6 mark against marquee competition. Prior to dropping three of four games to Florida State at the tail end of the season, the Cardinals had ripped off a 15-game winning streak from late April to mid-May. If they get hot like that again, no team in their regional will be able to stop them.

Fort Worth Regional
No. 6 TCU (42-16)
Virginia (42-14)
Dallas Baptist (30-19)
Central Connecticut State (36-20)

Winner: No 6 TCU over Virginia

Why: TCU reminds me of my Florida Gators. They have a great baseball program, but can never finish in Omaha. That aside, they will advance to a fourth consecutive super regional. Unless Virginia gets really hot and brings back the mojo that won them a title in 2015, it's safe to say that the Horned Frogs will take care of business in their regional.

Fayetteville Regional
Arkansas (42-17)
Missouri State (40-17)
Oklahoma State (30-25)
Oral Roberts (42-14)

Winner: Arkansas over Oklahoma State

Why: Arkansas was a sweep of LSU away from an SEC regular season title. In the conference tournament, they were a home run away from an SEC tournament title over LSU. The moral of the story is that Arkansas is good. I personally saw them whoop my Florida Gators 16-0 in an incredible offensive showing.

The Razorbacks will slug their way to victory behind guys like Chad Spanberger and Dominic Fletcher as they look to make a return trip to Omaha for the second time in three seasons.

Winston-Salem Regional
Wake Forest (39-18)
West Virginia (34-24)
Maryland (37-21)
UMBC (23-23)

Winner: Wake Forest over West Virginia

Why: Wake Forest had the third best record in the ACC and are hosting their first regional since 2002. The Demon Deacons should draw a good crowd and handle what I consider to be a pretty mediocre group of teams in their regional.

Gainesville Regional
No. 3 Florida (42-16)
USF (41-17)
Bethune-Cookman (33-23)
Marist (32-31)

Winner: No. 3 Florida over USF

Why: This one is not too hard for me. Blessed with a very favorable regional, the Florida Gators will basically just need to beat USF twice to advance. As long as they don't walk 17 batters like they did in their 15-10 loss to the Bulls in early May, the Gators should be fine. I do not think Florida will steamroll through their regional, but they will do enough to win it.

Super Regionals
So if all my upset-ridden regionals predictions were to somehow come true, let's see what the super regional matchups would look like. Keep in mind a team has to win two out of three games in supers to advance to the College World Series.

Corvallis Super Regional
No. 1 Oregon State vs Clemson

Winner: No. 1 Oregon State

Why: The Beavers will continue to flex their muscles as the best team in the country as they sweep their super regional. This will be their sixth College World Series appearance and at this point they will still be undefeated in postseason play. Their single-digit losses will prompt many to wonder if this may be one of the best collegiate baseball teams to ever take the field.

Fullerton Super Regional
Cal State Fullerton vs UCLA

Winner: UCLA

Why: In an unexpected super regional for Titan fans, this series will go three games. Somehow, Bruin head coach John Savage will guide his team to their fourth College World Series appearance in his tenure and sixth overall.

Lubbock Super Regional
No. 5 Texas Tech vs Auburn

Winner: No. 5 Texas Tech

Why: Auburn will hit a brick wall when they run into Texas Tech. The Red Raiders will not wipe the floor with the Tigers though, as the series will go three. It will be the postseason experience of Tech that will guide them past a predominantly young Auburn team that has not tasted success in a long time.

Baton Rouge Super Regional
No. 4 LSU vs Mississippi State

Winner: No. 4 LSU

Why: In a rematch of their final series in Starkville, LSU will again best Mississippi State. It will be in sweep-like fashion like during the regular season, as the Tigers will advance to their 18th College World Series in school history. It will be their fifth under head coach Paul Mainieri.

Fort Myers Super Regional
FGCU vs Texas A&M

Winner: FGCU

Why: Continuing to surprise the college baseball world, the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles will keep their cinderella dreams alive as they defeat Texas A&M in two games at JetBlue Park. You have read that correct, I have Florida Gulf Coast going to the College World Series!

Louisville Super Regional
No. 7 Louisville vs NC State

Winner: No. 7 Louisville

Why: Having fallen in their past two super regionals at home, the Cardinals will finally right the ship and defeat NC State in three games to get back to Omaha. Louisville won the series up in Raleigh against the Wolfpack, so home field advantage should yield no different result. This will be the Cardinals' fourth ever College World Series appearance.

Fort Worth Super Regional
No. 6 TCU vs Arkansas

Winner: No. 6 TCU

Why: In my past two CWS predictions articles, I have picked against TCU in super regionals. Needless to say, I am abandoning that approach. In three games, the Horned Frogs will out-slug and out-pitch Arkansas to reach their fourth consecutive College World Series.

Gainesville Super Regional
No. 3 Florida vs Wake Forest

Winner: No. 3 Florida

Why: Finally not having to play Florida State in a super regional, the Florida Gators will have their limits tested against a decent Wake Forest team. I think the series will go three, but like last year the Gators will be dog-piling on the field as they return to Omaha for the third straight year.

College World Series
Now at the Big Dance, let's see who is going to be the National Champion for 2017! Like regionals and supers, two losses in the College World Series means elimination. Let's proceed.

College World Series First Round
No. 1 Oregon State vs UCLA

Winner: UCLA

Why: The only team to figure out the enigma that is Oregon State, UCLA will down their Pac-12 foe for the third time this season on one of the biggest stages of college baseball.

No. 4 LSU vs No. 5 Texas Tech

Winner: No. 4 LSU

Why: Back in Omaha after a year hiatus, the Tigers will make the most of their reunion as they edge out Texas Tech to enter the winner's bracket.

No. 7 Louisville vs FGCU

Winner: No. 7 Louisville

Why: FGCU's magic runs out against juggernaut Louisville. The Cardinals will beat up on the Eagles for just their second-ever win in the College World Series.

No. 3 Florida vs No. 6 TCU

Winner: No. 6 TCU

Why: As has been a custom in recent years, the Gator bats will go cold in Omaha. In a low-scoring affair, the Horned Frogs will oust the Gators to send them to the loser's bracket.

Elimination Games
No. 1 Oregon State vs No. 5 Texas Tech

Winner: No. 1 Oregon State

Why: They are the best team in the country for a reason. Oregon State will survive the Red Raiders to keep their season alive.

No. 3 Florida vs FGCU

Winner: No. 3 Florida

Why: Though losing both games to FGCU in the regular season, Florida will win the matchup that matters. This will end what will have been a terrific postseason for the Eagles.

End Result: No. 5 Texas Tech & FGCU ELIMINATED

Second Round
No. 4 LSU vs UCLA

Winner: No. 4 LSU

Why: The Tigers will keep rolling and win a close one against the Bruins. This will actually be revenge of sorts for LSU as UCLA defeated them in the 2013 College World Series. Interestingly enough, LSU was the No. 4 national seed when that upset occurred.

No. 6 TCU vs No. 7 Louisville

Winner: No. 6 TCU

Why: In this highly anticipated matchup, it will be experience that carries the Horned Frogs to victory. They have more CWS wins in their last two trips than Louisville has total, which means TCU is completely comfortable in high-pressure moments. I think they soundly beat the Cardinals to yet again advance to the semifinals.

Elimination Games
No. 1 Oregon State vs UCLA

Winner: No. 1 Oregon State

Why: With their backs still very much up against the wall, the Beavers will finally down the Bruins for just the second time all season. With UCLA finally dispatched for good, Oregon State will still have a ways to climb towards the title game.

No. 3 Florida vs No. 7 Louisville

Winner: No. 7 Louisville

Why: As Gator fans have come accustomed to, Florida will come up short yet again in Omaha. They will lose a close one to the Cardinals to end yet another promising season. For Louisville, this will be their first-ever appearance in the CWS semifinals.

End Result: No. 3 Florida & UCLA ELIMINATED

CWS Semifinals
No. 1 Oregon State vs No. 4 LSU

Winner: No. 4 LSU

Why: This semifinals meeting between the Beavers and Tigers will go to a winner-take-all game, but LSU will prevail. This will be their first National Championship appearance since 2009. It will be absolute heartbreak for Oregon State as the 18-year old curse of the No. 1 seed lives on.

No. 6 TCU vs No. 7 Louisville

Winner: No. 6 TCU

Why: Remembering how they lost both semifinal games of last year's CWS, TCU will finally break through and reach the first National Championship in program history.

End Result: No. 1 Oregon State & No. 7 Louisville ELIMINATED

CWS Finals
No. 4 LSU vs No. 6 TCU

Winner: No. 4 LSU

Why: The last time these two met in the College World Series was 2015. TCU won both those games by scores of 10-3 and 8-4. This time around, the Tigers will avenge the '15 squad and win the program's seventh National Championship. This series will be great and go three games with future MLB first rounder Alex Lange maybe coming out of the bullpen to close out the win.

National Champion:

LSU Tigers!

Final Takeaway
So there you have it, the No. 4 national seed LSU Tigers will win this year's National Championship! As a side note, if even half of my predictions were to come true I'd be pretty content. I can't emphasize enough how baseball is such an unpredictable sport and literally anything can happen.

I hope this year's tournament is as good as last year's, with walk offs and upsets and just all-around great baseball. I'll of course be pulling for my Gators, hoping somehow they can bring this town the National Championship we have all been thirsting for.

I can't deny either that a very small part of me will be cheering on LSU. They are going to be my home for the next four years, so it's best to slowly start the transition. Of course when it comes to them playing Florida though, all bets are off.

Either way, I am interested to see how my picks will turn out. Will a team like FGCU make a magical run? Will Oregon State dominate to a title? Will Florida finally finish? Will LSU finally prove that I can pick a baseball tournament right? Or will someone else out of left field swoop in for the title? Tune in all of June to watch the madness unfold!
